2018 ESIP Summer Meeting

Welcome to the Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) 2018 Summer Meeting! The 2018 theme is Realizing the Socioeconomic Value of Data. The theme is based on one of the goals in the 2015 - 2020 ESIP Strategic Plan, which provides a framework for ESIP’s activities over the next three years.

I am coordinating a few interest groups in Australia: Software Citation, Data Services, Research Data Provenance, and monthly TechTalk. I also co-chair two RDA IGs: Data Discovery Paradigms (DDP) and Software Source Code. The RDA DDP IG is planning to start two task forces: data discovery on granularity, data discovery through web search engines (schema.org). I am keen to collaborate with ESIP people who are interested in any of the listed topics.
